Introduction: The Void After Rehabilitation
Under our US health mandate, Mental Health is a primary focus—specifically, the devastating youth addiction crisis. Clinical rehabilitation is essential for physical recovery, but it is only the first step. When a young person leaves rehab, they often face a dangerous void. Without a renewed sense of purpose and a break from their previous environment, the risk of relapse is incredibly high.
A Radical Approach to Purpose
ELOIM offers a transformative alternative through our Volunteer Abroad Services. We take young people recovering from drug addiction on a self-sponsored post-recovery trip to Uganda.
- Immersion and Service: For a period ranging from 3 months to over a year, these youths are placed on hands-on projects under our sister organization in Uganda. They step out of their geographical boundaries and immerse themselves in community outreach and development.
- Finding Self Through Others: The goal of this program is not just travel; it is deep, psychological healing. By serving others who face different types of immense challenges, these young people gain profound perspective.
Conclusion: Renewed Lives
We envision a world where youth overcome addiction and cultures connect. Our hope is that at the end of this program, these young adults will have discovered themselves and found a concrete, lasting purpose for their lives.
