For a young person struggling with addiction, recovery is about more than just sobriety—it’s about rediscovering who they are and finding a new purpose for their life. While traditional recovery programs are vital, the journey afterward can be fraught with challenges, leaving many feeling lost and at risk of relapse.
At ELOI Ministries Inc., we take mental health seriously, and we’ve developed a unique Post Recovery Support program designed to help young people build a new foundation for their future, thousands of miles from home.
From Recovery to Self-Discovery in Uganda
We offer a transformative, self-sponsored trip to Uganda, East Africa, for young people who are in recovery. This isn’t a vacation; it’s an immersive experience in self-discovery.
For a period of 3 to 12 months, participants are placed in hands-on service projects with our sister organization, ELOI Ministries Uganda. They work on meaningful initiatives in education, healthcare, and community development. This journey allows them to:
- Gain a New Perspective: Stepping away from their home environment helps break old patterns and fosters a global worldview.
- Build Confidence Through Service: Contributing to a community and seeing their impact firsthand builds self-esteem and resilience.
- Find Renewed Purpose: By helping others, they begin to heal themselves, discovering a sense of purpose that can guide them for the rest of their lives.
We believe this journey can be the final, crucial step in a young person’s path to lasting recovery and a fulfilling life.
