Introduction: The Mental Health Crisis Among Youth One of the most critical areas ELOI Ministries focuses on in the USA is Health, specifically Mental Health. The youth addiction crisis in America is devastating families, leaving young people feeling lost, isolated, and without direction even after they have completed initial rehabilitation. Recovery is not just about stopping drug use; it is about finding a reason to live.
The Post-Recovery Trip to Uganda To address this, ELOIM facilitates a unique and transformative Volunteer Abroad Service. We take young people who are recovering from drug addiction on a self-sponsored post-recovery trip to Uganda.
- Hands-On Immersion: For a period of 3 months to 1 year (or more), these youths are placed on hands-on projects under our sister organization in East Africa.
- Discovering Purpose: By stepping outside their geographical boundaries and serving communities in Uganda—whether through assisting with our school outreach or community support—these young people experience a profound shift in perspective.
Conclusion: Healing Through Service We have seen that when you help someone else, you often heal yourself. By the end of this program, our goal is that these young people will have discovered themselves, renewed their minds, and found a lasting, healthy purpose for their lives.
