At ELOI USA, our work has always been rooted in compassion, community, and the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Whether we are supporting seniors, welcoming new Americans, offering comfort to the lonely, or building programs that strengthen our communities, one truth remains constant: we cannot do this work alone.
Today, we are opening our doors wider than ever and inviting volunteers across Vermont, and beyond, to join us in our mission. This is more than a request for help. It is an invitation to become part of a family of service, a community of people who believe in hope, justice, and the power of simple acts of kindness.
ELOI USA is growing. Our initiatives now reach both local neighborhoods and international communities. From furnishing apartments for new Americans to offering free lawn care for seniors to creating safe spaces for conversation and emotional support to building long-term care solutions for elders, each project requires hands, hearts, and willing spirits.
Volunteers are the backbone of this work. You bring the compassion, the energy, and the human connection that no program can function without.
It’s often a big decision to volunteer. We’ll support you every step of the way.
We’ve been working with volunteers across different continents like Africa and Asia for over 15 years. We have a huge amount of experience, having supported more than 20,000 volunteers in that time.
Volunteering with ELOI Ministries is a significant commitment. We provide comprehensive support during your time volunteering with us, so you can focus on what matters: making a difference.
Volunteer health and safety is a priority. We ensure our volunteers are medically fit to travel and will be kept safe and healthy throughout the duration of their placement. Our country office staff will be there to help. Depending on your placement, you’ll receive all the support you can get.
There is a place for every gift and every schedule. Volunteers can support:
• Local outreach such as lawn care, apartment furnishing, and community visits
• Emotional support initiatives like “Chat With Steven.”
• Elder care projects, including our memory care and assisted living vision
• International missions that uplift vulnerable communities abroad
• Administrative and logistical support for events, deliveries, and coordination
• Fundraising and awareness efforts that help sustain our programs
Whether you have one hour a week or one day a month, your presence makes a difference.
ELOI volunteers come from a range of backgrounds. To volunteer with us, all you have to do is sign up! any professional experience would be a great attribute depending on the placement chosen. All applicants are assessed individually, based on their competencies, skills, experience and qualifications.
